Telstra customers are being warned over an Indian call centre scam attempting to trick victims into handing over sensitive information that could be used for identity theft.
Guisborough is a town and civil parish on the south side of the River Tees in North Yorkshire, England within the borough of Redcar and Cleveland, having previously formed its own royal borough as a district of the North Riding of Yorkshire. Telstra customers are being warned over an Indian call centre scam attempting to trick victims into handing over sensitive information that could be used for identity theft.
Scammers are posing as police officers to try and dupe people into handing over financial information. Phone calls even appear to come from a local police station, say officers from Camden Police Area Command in NSW, which is a warning the public to beware of the new tactics.
The database of phone numbers and comments is created by users themselves through the website.
