Witney is a historic market town on the River Windrush, 12 miles west of Oxford in Oxfordshire, England. The place-name "Witney" is derived from the Old English for "Witta's island". Google and other search engines (Bing, Yandex…) have their own memory, so they don’t display an excerpt from the site that always 100% corresponds to reality. It can take a while for the search engine to reindex the site content and display a relevant site excerpt. It generally takes weeks, occasionally it may take months.
