Telstra customers are being warned over an Indian call centre scam attempting to trick victims into handing over sensitive information that could be used for identity theft.
Scammers are posing as police officers to try and dupe people into handing over financial information. Phone calls even appear to come from a local police station, say officers from Camden Police Area Command in NSW, which is a warning the public to beware of the new tactics.
The database of phone numbers and comments is created by users themselves through the website.
Comments can be added by registered users anonymously as well. Just like any other forum, it is not possible to 100% ensure the credibility of the comments. Therefore we reserve the right to delete comments or block comments for a particular number 01989563363.
Every user can deactivate any comment until the moderators deal with it. Just click the Delete button in the menu found at each comment. The user is then redirected to a short form where they can explain to moderators why they believe the comment is harmful.
The forum is partly moderated. Thousands of comments are added to the site daily so it is not in our power to check them all. Therefore we deal mainly with suspicious and reported comments.
